We have developed a novel food stabilizing agent, derived from edible plant materials, grown in European organic agriculture. The eco-friendly extraction process is fully chemical-free. The extracted agent shows superior properties compared to already-existing food stabilizers (e.g. xanthan, gelatine, agar-agar), and was successfully employed in prototyping various healthy food products.
Our innovation is a zero-waste procedure, since every component of the input plant material is being converted into something edible.
To bring this plant-derived agent onto the market we seek advice on i) the question as to whether the full procedure of an application process for a novel food additive (that would have its own E-number) needs to be entered; and if so ii) how to optimally plan/assist a swift approval process.
Experimental data (e.g. HPLC) is available.
